Family: Prior to undertaking pupillage at Guildford Chambers, Amanda worked for a top legal aid firm in London in the family law department, managing a caseload of public and private law children matters, ancillary relief and injunction matters. Amanda has also dealt with clients in relation to forced marriage cases.
Amanda currently receives instructions on all aspects of family law, including ancillary relief, children work and domestic violence injunctions. In addition Amanda frequently receives instructions to advise on particular family matters, such as enforcing foreign maintenance orders within the UK jurisdiction.
Civil: Amanda also undertakes a wide variety of civil work, such as infant approval settlements, landlord and tenant disputes, insolvency, personal injury and small claims work.
Criminal: Amanda also has experience within the Crown and Magistrates Court, and regularly accepts instructions to prosecute on behalf of government departments and private agencies.
Pro Bono Amanda continues to be available to undertake pro bono work with the Bar Pro Bono Unit, Free Representation Unit and regular advice clinics at the Surrey Law Centre.
