Called to the bar in 1999 Catherine worked for a large solicitors firm for 18months in the north of England before completing her pupillage at Guildford Chambers, becoming a tenant in 2001 and subsequently specialising in all areas of family law.
Catherine has experience in all areas of ancillary relief in both challenging ‘modest claims’ and ‘big money cases’ including matters which involve, pension provision, business accounts, dissipation of assets and foreign elements. Catherine has also dealt with property disputes between co-habitees, applications as interveners and provision under the children act.
Catherine has extensive experience in private child law Contact and Residence dispute including those with application to remove from the jurisdiction and those that have had substantial expert evidence in areas such as psychiatric problems, parenting skills, domestic violence, drug and alcohol abuse and matters where a party’s inextricable hostility has required a guardian to be appointed.
Catherine has dealt with a number of public law care orders and emergency applications on behalf of parents including those involving both emotional and physical risk of harm and continues to expand her expertise in this area.
