REGULATION
Care homes and Care standards: advises and represents care homes in Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI) matters and Care Standards Tribunal (CST) regulatory matters.
Medical regulation: defending registered professionals and regulated practitioners in a variety of regulatory forums, including the General Medical Council (GMC - regulating medical doctors), the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC - regulating nurses and midwives), the General Dental Council (GDC - regulating dentists and dental workers), and the Health Professions Council (HPC - regulating a number of registered professionals allied to medicine, such as paramedics, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, medical scientists).
CLINICAL NEGLIGENCE AND PERSONAL INJURY
Personal injury cases and clinical negligence work: advising on liability, evidence, and expert evidence. Hearings undertaken within employers’ liability, occupiers’ liability and negligence in the forum of road traffic accidents, slip and trip, injuries at work, and accidents at building sites and boating yards.
PRIVATE PROSECUTION
Large RSPCA practice, including advice and court hearings on all aspects of the 1911 and recent 2006 legislation including ancillary applications of disqualification and deprivation.
Private prosecutions for Surrey Trading Standards.
CONTRACT
All varieties of contracts including: consumer, manufacturer, bailee/ bailor agreements, supply of goods and services.
BOUNDARY DISPUTES/ HARASSMENT AND NUISANCE ACTIONS
Acted in fast track and multi-track trials regarding liability and remedy in complex disputes of boundaries, as well as acting as the legal representative in lengthy mediation. This area also encompasses neighbours’ complaints of nuisance, and harassment.
LANDLORD AND TENANT
Registered Social Landlord and Private Landlord cases, including most commonly Housing Act 1988 legislation: specifically rent arrears and anti-social behaviour. Actions for possession, rights and remedies of landlord and tenant.
EMPLOYMENT
Employment law including unfair dismissal, breach of contract, discrimination, redundancy, TUPE, restrictive covenants, procedural issues and appeals to both the E.A.T and the Court of Appeal. Her employment practice includes both appearing in tribunals and also drafting or advising on papers as required.
